Fun with Knitting (and Quilting)

Success!

Well I debated about the bunny but my niece loved it (almost as much as Elmo-and that i saying ALOT!)   She also liked her sweater. Though I haven't seen it on her yet! She had too many gifts to open yesterday to get her to try it on! Here she is showing me her knitted goodies!   Here is my brother in his natural goof-ball state!

We've done 4 of our 5 Christmas celebrations! One left on Saturday! It's always like such a whirlwind. I didn't get any yarn but lots of books! Here's a picture of all the knitty/quilty books I received!!! (oh I'missing the the new Kate Jacobs book-that's already on my nightstand!)

 

I do have one last FO for 2008, it's blocking now..Hopefully it will be dry for a photo shoot soon!

This Christmas knitting is done!

Well I've finished the Christmas knitting! Thanks goodness..now i can get back to knitting for me! LOL!

Olivia's bunny is done!  The pattern is the pot bellied bunny. but since I put the eyes on backwards I'm lovingly calling him the big ass-ed bunny! This was not my favorite knit ever but I guess it did come out cute. I don't know if was the pattern or maybe it was the yarn Bernat Softee Chunky in Rose Twist. The tail is made of Paton Allure.  (I should know I don't like knitting with cheap yarn!)

I also now have all 13 bird ornaments all finished. They just need to go onto little packages of candy for my family! They did come out really cute. I was a bit worried for a bit..They are quite fun though.

Winter started today here with a bang. It's 5 degrees F outside here now! with the wind I'm sure it's like -15. Figures I washed and blocked my mittens and beret I just knit so  don't have them to wear for this weather! I also don't have any pictures of them yet either!

Tonight is gift wrapping night! Hubby and I are going to put in a DVD, probably National Lampoons Christmas vacation watch it and wrap gifts!

Alright off to make a batch of cookies and some dinner before "Wrap fest" begins! Have a wonderful Holiday & a Merry Christmas!

It's Christmastime again!

Well mysteriously my card reader is working again! Vista downloaded some new updates so perhaps that is what cleared up the problem!

I have picts of my niece's finished sweater. I now the buttons aren't on yet in the picture but it they are now. I got some cute little silver kitty buttons.

The pattern is Beautiful Cabled Baby Cardigan from Sweater Babe. I used Vanna's Choice, and while I love the color I'm not htrilled with the yarn..

I'm still putting the finishing touches on the bunny I'm knitting for her also. I have the arms, legs and ears sewn on now, but I need to redo the legs because tehy aren't quite right.

Then here are 11 little birdie ornaments for my family..we make and exchange ornaments at Christmas. They came out pretty cute I think!

I've also been working on my gathered pullover from Interweave out of my Malabrigo Silky..it is scrumptious yarn! I'm pretty happy with how it is turning out!

An oh yeah I finally finished these socks I started way back in July!

 While I love the color of the yarn I'm not thrilled with the yarn and won't use it for socks again. It's the Berocco Comfort Sock. It's splitty and a bit stretchy.

So knitty projects are getting done, but I havne't started yet with any cookies. Friday is my last day of work for 2 weeks so I do have almost a week off before Christmas to get stuff done! Wish me luck!

Overwhelming...

Ok so the pictures are still not working. I think I need to go try to find my card reader somewhere in the basement tomorrow... I'm taking tomorrow off..As a teacher yes I get alot of vacation time, but not at a choice that is mine...except for 3 precious days (it's taken me 14 years to get to 3 days). I usually take my b-day off..now that I'm to my 3rd extra day- a day at Christmas, and then another day with a teacher friend, in the spring.

Anyway...I'm already starting to feel overwhelmed! I think I've got to many things started and nothing finished!  Olivia's stuffed bunny- started, ornaments- started, decorating-mostly done but I need to get the empty tubs back to the basement (hubby didn't do that today when I asked and knowing him if I don't do it they'll sit around for 2 weeks), baking-ahh I'm going to try to not over do it this year, Christmas cards-I've thought about them, shopping is well on it's way, but nothing is wrapped! Ahh I think I need to just step back and take a deep breath and say finish something! I'm hoping to get a bunch done here tomorrow since I'm off and hubby will be at work. I can never get much done when he's home it seems. Hopefully I'll get something accomplished tomorrow and feel a little better!

No pictures! Bummer

Well There has been much knitting, cooking, and Christmas shopping. I still have lots of decorating to do! I've got most of the body of the gathered pullover done, my tree partly up. I've been working on the pot-bellied bunny pattern for my niece, and knit a bitty stocking ( I was entertaining the idea of making these for family for Christmas but at about 1 hour each and needing to make 20 or so of them...I think it's something for next year!) and a couple of other projects...

Unfortunately my camera, or rather my card reader or something on my computer isn't working! The last couple times I've tried to put the card in the reader it totally freezes my computer and i have to do a forced shut down and then it takes awhile to get the computer to even turn back on! I don't know what the heck is up! Any thoughts? Ugh! It's so frustrating! Hubby (who is a computer programmer!) can't figure it out either!
